Pilar Sanders took to social media to share a message following her daughter’s decision.
“When you know your value, don’t let anyone or anything stop you!” she wrote, reflecting both pride and encouragement as Shelomi looks for a fresh start.
Shelomi Sanders Looking for a Bigger Opportunity
Shelomi began her college career at Jackson State when her father, Deion Sanders, was leading the program. She later followed him to Colorado and eventually transferred to Alabama A&M in search of more playing time.
Across two seasons at Alabama A&M, she saw irregular minutes and was not a regular part of the rotation. While her presence brought attention to the program, her on-court opportunities didn’t quite match expectations.
The Division II program gives her a chance to step into a bigger role, rebuild confidence, and carve out her own identity on the court.

Despite their past, both parents have shown support for Shelomi during this transition.
Pilar’s message highlighted belief in her, while Deion’s message during her announcement signaled support, something that hasn’t been common given their history. The couple have had a complicated relationship since their split, but moments like this show a shared focus when it comes to their children.
While Shelomi’s playing career continues to evolve, she is also building a presence beyond the court. She has been involved in community initiatives, including work focused on improving living conditions in underserved areas. At the same time, she has secured partnerships with major brands, reflecting her growing influence.
