LeBron James announced on Friday that he’s signing a two-year contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, choosing the 76ers over the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers. And Philly fans were over the moon with the news.
One of the biggest fans of Philadelphia sports, South Carolina Gamecocks coach Dawn Staley, also celebrated with great passion. During the WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday night, the Philly native wore a custom LeBron T-shirt and dropped a four-word comment after being noticed by fans.
“Philly love is unmatched!!!!” She posted.
When LeBron announced his decision, Staley was one of the first ones to post a video celebrating. She couldn’t contain her excitement and shouted frantically while recording herself.
“Philly? The Sixers? We got the king, y’all. We got the king! Welcome to Philly, Bron. Let me know if you need any spots. Let me know if Zhuri needs a new place to go to a school. I know the entire school district. Let me know, Savannah. We got you! LeBron, great choice, my guy!” Staley shared.

Dawn Staley and Cynthia Cooper shared a wholesome exchange during the All-Star Game. The two legends hugged and shared a laugh while striking what looked like a hearty conversation.
She also linked up with Lisa Leslie. The duo was seen vibing with Team Coop. Staley then shared a warm hug with different players, including her former Gamecocks player, A’ja Wilson.
Team Spoon beat Team Coop 129-122. Jonquel Jones of the New York Liberty won the MVP award with 22 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists.
