Indiana Fever standout Aliyah Boston recently addressed the birthday post she shared for Caitlin Clark when Clark turned 24 on Jan. 22. The post featured a photo of the two during a game against the Atlanta Dream, where they appeared to be engaged in an intense on-court conversation.
After a fan asked about the post, Boston explained the moment during the latest episode of her “Post Moves” podcast, which she co-hosts alongside WNBA legend Candace Parker.
Aliyah Boston Explains the Photo She Posted of Caitlin Clark on Her Birthday
The 2025 WNBA season was marked by injuries for the Fever, as the team gradually lost several players, including Clark, the 2024 Rookie of the Year.
However, once Indiana reached the postseason, the group took on a new identity led by Boston, Kelsey Mitchell and Lexie Hull.
In the opening round of the playoffs, the Fever faced the No. 3 seed Atlanta Dream. Despite Clark being sidelined and in street clothes, Indiana pulled off an 87-85 win in Game 3 to complete the upset.
Boston explained that the photo shared on Clark’s birthday came from that playoff series.
“Obviously, we’re in Atlanta, and considering I don’t remember having one good game in Atlanta. I’m telling you, I think she was telling me, like, ‘Don’t worry about anything,’” Boston said.
During the first-round series, Boston averaged 12.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists. Over her career on the road against the Dream, she has posted averages of 12.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
“This is, like, us. This is us in our favorite form of basketball. So she must have been telling me something she saw on the court.
“And I’m just looking at her, probably trying to say, like, ‘Girl, I’m hearing you, but do you see the way I’m playing?’ That was probably the next words out of my mouth, to which she probably responded and was like, “It’s fine. You’re good, AB. You’re good, AB.” … This is us all the time on the basketball court.”
The Fever advanced to face the Las Vegas Aces, who eventually won the 2025 championship. Indiana pushed the series to a decisive Game 5, falling 107-98 in overtime, despite losing All-Star guard Kelsey Mitchell to injury in the third quarter and seeing Boston foul out in the final minute of regulation.
