Azzi Fudd, Hannah Hidalgo Miss Out on All-America Team As Sarah Strong, Olivia Miles And More Lead

Women’s college basketball is at its business end, as March Madness is about to start. Along with senior days, Selection Sunday, and the start of the NCAA Tournament, some other days that are just as important are when the awards and All-American Teams are announced.

Multiple teams have shown why they can go deep in March Madness and win the NCAA tournament. Dawn Staley’s South Carolina and Kim Mulkey’s LSU are the usual candidates to go all the way. Shea Ralph has also made major strides at Vanderbilt. Notre Dame and UCLA are two teams that have shown potential. Moreover, Geno Auriemma’s UConn has probably been the best team this season, as they are still unbeaten.

Many names like Azzi Fudd, Sarah Strong, Mikayla Blakes, Lauren Betts, Hannah Hidalgo, Olivia Miles, Joyce Edwards, Flau’jae Johnson, Jaloni Cambridge, Raven Johnson, MiLaysia Fulwiley, Madison Booker, and Olivia Olson have been tremendous all season. But only a few could win the awards and enter the 2025-26 All-American Teams.

The Athletic has announced its 2025-2026 All-America Teams:

    FIRST TEAM
    Sarah Strong
    Mikayla Blakes
    Lauren Betts
    Olivia Miles
    Madison Booker

    SECOND TEAM
    Joyce Edwards
    Azzi Fudd
    Olivia Olson
    Hannah Hidalgo
    Jaloni Cambridge (tied)
    Flau’Jae Johnson (tied)

    Fans React to Athletic’s 2025-26 All-American Teams

Fans online had a lot of disagreements about different players when the team was announced.

“Hidalgo deserves first team. This a joke,” one fan said.

“UCONN is stacked as they usually are but they have played like four ranked teams the whole year beat them all, but come on man have they been really tested yet,” one fan wondered.

“Azzi Fudd having an incredible season and should be 1st team, imo,” another suggested.

“Joyce averaged slightly more points, rebounds and blocks, and less than half an assist or steal less than Madison. All while playing less minutes in the same conference that Joyce’s team won by multiple games in the standings. How is MB 1st team and JE second team?” one fan explained.

“Azzi Fudd is THE best player in the Ncaa. Most talented and it’s not close. This list is ridiculous, but congrats to Geno and Sarah for pulling off the campaign. Always icing out Azzi after she gets going got you both what you wanted. Yay,” another expressed discontent.

“Hidalgo and Edwards deserve first team over Miles or Booker,” another stated.
