Audi Crooks is probably the biggest name in women’s basketball to enter the transfer portal after the 2025-26 season. After spending three seasons with Iowa State, Crooks has decided to leave the program in search of a more featured role, potentially with a contender. What better it could be to join a program like the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, where Hannah Hidalgo plays.
Hidalgo averaged 25.2 points per game last season and she ranked third in scoring last season. Meanwhile, Crooks was second with 25.8 points per game. If both were to join hands and play on the same Fighting Irish squad, Notre Dame would become a contender for the national title.
This is more than just a possibility. Crooks seems to have recently started following Notre Dame’s official Instagram page. This has set a buzz that Crooks might be on her way to joining Hidalgo’s Notre Dame this summer through transfer portal.
For Crooks, Notre Dame makes sense because they need frontcourt scoring and she could complement star guard Hannah Hidalgo. Apart from Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas, LSU and USC are some of the other schools that are also interested in bringing Crooks aboard. Only time will tell where Crooks decides to play her final season in college basketball.
Candace Parker Suggests Ideal Portal Fit for Audi Crooks
WNBA legend Candace Parker and Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston both chimed in on where Audi Crooks should probably go from the transfer portal. Parker suggested that Notre Dame is an ideal landing destination for Crooks.
“I’d like to see her at Notre Dame,” Parker said.
Boston was first perplexed with Parker’s suggestion but she soon understood how the move makes sense in a lot of ways. She added:
“Okay! That’s really not bad. That’s really not bad. I like Notre Dame, because I think Coach [Niele] Ivey will kind of know what to do with her in the pick and roll. Because, obviously, there are some deficiencies on the defensive end. But when you have someone like Hannah, who can cover up stuff, [Crooks] doesn’t have to do anything in a pick and roll, because Hannah can get over, under, around, through. Whatever. So I just think that that might make things interesting.”
TCU is another destination where the Fever forward thinks Crooks could end up going since the Horned Frogs will see Olivia Miles departing for the WNBA draft.
