A’ja Wilson is considered one of South Carolina’s greatest exports to the WNBA, so whenever she’s in the news, there ends up being a connection to the Gamecocks, and this time is no different.
Wilson last played for the Gamecocks in 2018 but has constantly praised head coach Dawn Staley and received praise too, becoming a custodian for the University long after graduating.
In her latest interaction with South Carolina, Wilson can be seen describing her University as “that girl University”, prompting the Gamecocks’ official social media to get involved and have some fun with the moment.
But fans seem to have taken a different view, finding the entire thing “cringe” and seem fed up with the need to always be entertaining when it isn’t required.
