“She Hasn’t Tried It, That’s the Problem”: Aliyah Boston Presents Solution for Caitlin Clark’s Foul Troubles

Caitlin Clark has received seven technical fouls this season, tied for the most with Angel Reese. She has had multiple run-ins with officials. The issue has been a major talking point around her all summer.

Meanwhile, her Indiana Fever teammates and coach Stephanie White have often taken a stand against what they view as the mistreatment and unfair refereeing toward Clark.

Navigating the fouls and her on-court antics has been a challenge for Clark, her teammates and White as well as the referees. On her podcast with Candace Parker on Monday, Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston suggested a solution which could prevent Clark’s foul troubles.

“She could just yell at us or something like I’m trying. She hasn’t tried it. She hasn’t tried it. No, she hasn’t tried it. That’s the problem. She hasn’t tried it,” Boston said.

“She’s playing around. She got the tech, and everybody was like, ‘Oh, here she go.’ We’re like, ‘Go get her.’ That’s why Kelsey subbed in. Kelsey’s like, ‘Why am I going back in?’ We’re like, ‘Caitlin got a tech.’ ‘Come on,’ she said.

Parker suggested that since after eight technicals there is a one-game ban, Clark should just go and shout at the ref randomly to get her eighth foul and get it over with. She suggested that it is better to get a ban now than towards the end of the season.

Candace Parker remembers tough game vs Kelsey Mitchell

Parker shared that in her experience Mitchell was one of the toughest players to guard. She recalled thinking to herself that her retirement was near as she struggled against Boston.

“Becky Hammond was yelling at me because I had to be up to touch in a pick-and-roll and Kelsey Mitchell was doing the, like, herky-jerky. I was just like, it’s over. This isn’t even fun anymore. She’s taking my ankles,” Parker remembered (TIMESTAMP: 10:21).

Parker also mentioned how Clark, Mitchell and Boston are tied for the most 20-point games by a trio in WNBA history. She was impressed and praised the Fever stars.
