Angel Reese’s fans were deeply offended by Natasha Cloud’s commentary on her girlfriend Isabelle Harrison’s game on Sunday during the Atlanta Dream’s 102-77 win over the Toronto Tempo. Just before tempers flared between Reese and Harrison after their physical play and the latter got ejected, Cloud was praising the Tempo player’s tenacity on the Threads app.
“I like that edge IH,” Cloud said in her first post. “
As Reese’s fans called her out for not condoning Harrison’s questionable Flagrant 2 foul, Cloud clarified her comment was about her girlfriend’s solid play during the second quarter, when she had a team-high 13 points.
“Naw y’all all triggered cause my thread talked about how I loved how Izzy came out with an edge today in the 2nd quarter when she was the leading scorer with 13 pts,” Cloud wrote. “The immaturity comes from y’all. Always has.”
However, the majority of Reese’s fans felt Cloud was lauding Harrison for taking the Dream star down in the third quarter. That was despite Cloud’s timestamps suggesting otherwise, which she mentioned as well.
But that didn’t stop Reese’s fans from coming for Cloud’s neck.
“Yeah… you gone have to slow up on this shawty. Both of yall Jealous of Reese….,” one fan wrote.
“Says the person who barely even made a team…please! #LastOption 😭😂,” another said.
Try triggering Chicago to win some games,” one fan added.
“So ultimately this is sad. Plus you are supposed to be about peace! lol 😂 That was out of pocket. Hateful acts only lead to embarrassment,” one fan wrote.
“I think you have bigger things to worry about Tash, like WINNING a game maybe?” another said.
No you just weird. Very weird,” one fan added.
Angel Reese was in tears after catching a Flagrant 2 hit from Isabelle Harrison
It turned into an emotional matchup quickly for Angel Reese against Isabelle Harrison after their intense duel on Sunday. After Harrison brought down Reese, the Dream star immediately tried to go at her counterpart, but their teammates intervened and stopped a major fight.
Shortly after, Harrison got ejected. Reese, meanwhile, was in tears on the Dream bench as she walked back to take her free throws.
Nevertheless, Reese responded in the best way possible. She finished the game with 15 points and 17 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive glass alone. It wasn’t Reese’s best shooting night as she went 6 of 19, but her contributions in other areas were enough to help Atlanta get the win. Reese was a plus-minus +18.
She wasn’t available to comment on her altercation with Harrison after the game.
