Lynx Rookie Olivia Miles Joins Elite Company of Maya Moore And Napheesa Collier After Masterclass vs the Storm

Olivia Miles has started her WNBA career in the best way possible. She is already a crucial player for the Minnesota Lynx. She is averaging 19.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 5.9 assists in 25 games. She is not only one of the candidates to win the Rookie of the Year, but also stands her ground in the top 5 of the MVP race. She has also earned her first All-Star inclusion.

Miles has already broken multiple WNBA and franchise records. After the game vs the Seattle Storm on Tuesday, July 21, the rookie has joined two legends of the game for impressive stat line. Miles has become only the third Lynx player to ever record a game with 30+ points, 5+ rebounds and 5+ assists. Maya Moore and Napheesa Collier are the only 2 players who achieved that before.

Miles scored 32 points with 8 rebounds and 8 assists in 36 minutes vs the Storm. She shot 54.2% from the field and had 5/5 free throws.

Storm rookie Flau’jae Johnson shines vs Olivia Miles’ Lynx

It was a battle of the rookies when the Lynx and the Storm played each other. While Miles led the Lynx to a 105-102 victory, Flau’jae Johnson wasn’t too far behind. Former LSU star scored 26 points with 7-11 from the field and 5-8 from the 3-point line.

Awa Fam, another rookie, had 8 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Natisha Hiedeman had a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists. Dominique Malonga also contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Zia Cooke scored 18 points. Although there were some impressive performances yet it was not enough vs the no. 1 team in the WNBA right now.

Apart from Miles’ 32 point-masterclass, Kayla McBride also had a night to remember. She had 33 points with 2 rebounds and 2 steals. Courtney Williams added 21 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.

The two teams are set to face each other for a rematch in less than 48 hours after the first game. Seattle will once again host Minnesota on July 23. Johnson and co. will have their chance at taking revenge for the previous loss.
