Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has been thriving on and off the court. Just recently, Cunningham was invited to be a ring girl for UFC 329’s main event. On the court, she has been a spark off the bench for the Fever, who are currently tied for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.
Unfortunately for Cunningham, she was not included on the final list of players competing in this year’s 3-Point Contest during WNBA All-Star Weekend. Cunningham reacted by reposting a fan’s upload on X/Twitter with a cryptic remark.
“Soooo what else is new with everyone?” she asked.
Fans reacted to Cunningham’s remark, with many believing that she should be a part of the 3-Point Contest.
“I got so disappointed when you were not included…Confused even on what criteria they used,” one fan pointed out.
Other users urged the WNBA to give more recognition to Cunningham.
Cunningham ranks second in the league in 3-point percentage at 43.7%. The 3-Point Contest participants this year include rookie Azzi Fudd, Rhyne Howard, Bridget Carleton, Natisha Hiedeman, Marina Mabrey, and Janelle Salaun. The contest is scheduled for Friday, July 24.

Perhaps what surprised Sophie Cunningham and her followers most about her WNBA 3-Point Contest snub is that she has been showcasing her full potential recently. On July 12, against the defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces, Cunningham tallied 20 points on a highly efficient 7-for-9 clip, which included 6-of-7 from 3-point range to go with an assist in 23 minutes.
The 2026 season is Cunningham’s second with the Fever. Through 25 games, Cunningham has averaged 9.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in around 23.0 minutes.
