Caitlin Clark made waves recently when she reportedly blocked Barstool Sports’ owner, Dave Portnoy, as the El Presidente addressed the situation in his podcast. In a recent episode of the Barstool Sports podcast, the panel once again discussed the events in which Clark blocked Portnoy.
Portnoy claimed that Rico Bosco, the co-host of the show, cost him his relationship with Clark by making him talk to one of the McCaffery brothers on the phone. However, Rico asked the owner to text her on the show, as he said that he didn’t believe Portnoy was actually blocked.
When Barstool Sports’ owner texted and checked, he informed the panel that the text had finally turned blue, which was a positive sign. However, Portnoy was delighted after some time when the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year finally replied to his text. He said:
“Breaking News: Caitlin Clark has responded. I said ‘Testing, am I blocked?’ She said, “Yes {crying emoji} {laughing} No LOL, I think you sent that last text when I was flying.”
As it turns out, the Indiana Fever guard did not block Dave Portnoy. She was allegedly traveling and was on an airplane when Portnoy texted her. It led El Presidente to believe that she blocked him.
Caitlin Clark to receive massive salary surge this season
After the WNBA and the players’ association concluded the new CBA negotiations, average players’ salaries have gone up to more than $300,000. Given that Clark is set for a max extension, the new salary cap structure will allow her salary to go up to $530,000 to $550,000 for the 2026 season.
The WNBA has concluded the expansion draft and now looks towards the WNBA draft and then to a new season. Clark did not play most of last season, and fans will be excited to see the elite guard on the court once again.
