Azzi Fudd’s rookie campaign took a major turn in Dallas’ last two games as the former UConn sharpshooter was moved into the starting lineup by head coach Jose Fernandez.
With the Commissioner’s Cup tipping off on Monday, Azzi Fudd is expected to be a part of the starting lineup once again for the Dallas Wings.
Getting her first start against the Liberty on May 25, Fudd made it clear why she deserved the spot in the starting lineup, logging a career-high 24 points on six three-pointers made.
The 23-year-old shooting guard then recorded back-to-back 20-point outings with a similar performance against the Las Vegas Aces, putting up 22 points and, in turn, leading Dallas to two big-time wins vs fellow WNBA championship contenders.
Fudd, expected to make her third start in place of Odyssey Sims, made her thoughts very clear on the gradual growth through her rookie season so far. Talking to. Talking to Alexa Phillipou of ESPN, Fudd claimed:
“I think just feeling more comfortable each game, being aggressive first of all, not hesitating when I’m open,”
