Caitlin Clark Takes Pride in Her Resiliency And Says She’s at her Best Ever After Winning June Player of The Month

Caitlin Clark has been through the ringer since the 2026 season started. Through all the bumps and bruises, the Indiana Fever star continued to thrive, winning Eastern Conference Player of the Month after June came to a close.

Ahead of the Fever’s Wednesday night matchup against the LA Sparks, Clark was asked about her continued improvement. CC responded by pointing out the intangible that has helped her stay prolific.

“I don’t really ever enjoy talking about myself too much, but I am really proud of myself for my resiliency, especially through the beginning of the year…I played 13 games last year, and I didn’t play basketball for 300 days. I know I’m under a microscope always, and my play is always going to be judged…but I feel like I’m playing the best basketball of my career.”

Clark added that she also takes pride in her confidence, which stems from the time she spends in the gym and the positive energy from her support system.

This season, the two-time WNBA All-Star is putting up career highs in scoring (21.2 ppg) and field goal percentage (43.0%). She has also surpassed her 13-game total from last season; the Wednesday matchup against the Sparks is her 18th came in the 2026 campaign.

In the history of the Fever franchise, only two players have ever won Player of the Month honors. Tamika Catchings achieved this feat three times, and now Clark is one Player of the Month win away from tying this record.

Texas Congressman Demands “Accountability” From WNBA in Light of “Multiple Attacks” Against Caitlin Clark

This latest Player of the Month win is a refreshing topic in the Caitlin Clark discourse, which has been recently dominated by the physicality that she withstood during a June 24 matchup against the Phoenix Mercury.

Apparently, U.S. Congressman August Pfluger (who represents the 11th district of Texas) wasn’t going to let this physicality slide. On Wednesday, Pfluger posted a pro-Clark letter addressed to WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert and signed by himself and 10 other members of Congress.

“It is imperative that the WNBA take meaningful action to address this issue. The league has an extraordinary opportunity to inspire the next generation of female athletes to pursue athletics, but that opportunity is undermined when its brightest stars are not adequately protected,” the letter partly read.

Pfluger and his colleagues also implied that the Department of Justice, the Department of Labor, or the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission could launch an investigation if the WNBA allows “discrimination and retaliation” to frequently occur.
