Caitlin Clark Compared To Victor Wembanyama By Jason Whitlock After A’ja Wilson, Paige Bueckers Take Lead in All-Star Voting List

On Wednesday, the first returns for WNBA All-Star voting were released. One of the main talking points was the absence of Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark from the top three. Clark ranked fifth, below A’ja Wilson, Paige Bueckers, Aliyah Boston and Breanna Stewart. Jason Whitlock was quick to comment on the matter.

The outspoken analyst compared Clark to San Antonio Spurs sensation Victor Wembanyama, who ranked fifth on the Western Conference All-Star ballot.

    “Caitlin Wembanyama,” Whitlock tweeted.

The top 10 in first returns is as follows:

1 A’ja Wilson Las Vegas Aces Frontcourt 308,249
2 Paige Bueckers Dallas Wings Guard 298,027
3 Aliyah Boston Indiana Fever Frontcourt 282,186
4 Breanna Stewart New York Liberty Frontcourt 255,879
5 Caitlin Clark Indiana Fever Guard 253,602
6 Jessica Shepard Dallas Wings Frontcourt 211,598
7 Angel Reese Atlanta Dream Frontcourt 204,643
8 Gabby Williams Golden State Valkyries Frontcourt 195,641
9 Olivia Miles Minnesota Lynx Guard 179,283
10 Kelsey Mitchell Indiana Fever Guard 170,125

Clark has had a topsy-turvy start to the season, but she remains one of the league’s best players. Nevertheless, there have been reports of friction between her and coach Stephanie White. While many blamed Clark’s attitude and body language for the Fever’s early struggles, others pointed at White, claiming she isn’t bringing out the best in her star player.

Jason Whitlock calls out Caitlin Clark supporters after All-Star voting list

For most of the season, Jason Whitlock held the opinion that Clark was stuck in Indiana and not playing her best basketball. However, he has changed his stance.

“The Caitlin Cult is busy making content blaming everyone but themselves and Caitlin Clark for this unprecedented fall in popularity. Caitlin has behaved as a stereotypical WNBA player, and her content cult turned her into a victim rather than victor. Sad,” Whitlock posted.

“This is just an amazing story on what has been done to Caitlin Clark’s popularity. Unreal,” he added.
