After missing the Indiana Fever’s last two games due to injury, Caitlin Clark returned to action in a Wednesday night matchup against the LA Sparks. Clark played just 16 minutes due to a restriction on her playing time as the Fever suffered a 106-92 loss on the road.
Unhappy with the brief spurts of Clark they saw in the game, fans vented their ire at Fever head coach Stephanie White on X.
Heading into the game, Clark had been averaging a career-high 21.2 ppg in 30.8 minutes per outing. Against the Sparks, though, she put up just nine points on 4-for-12 shooting from the field.
Though Clark is playing the best basketball of her WNBA career in more ways than one, fans still couldn’t help but criticize White for what they perceived to be mishandling of the guard’s minutes.
Analyst Makes Bold Claim Regarding Caitlin Clark: “Everything We Expected Her to Be, Paige Bueckers Has Been”
Though Caitlin Clark is putting up career highs in scoring and field goal percentage, she’s still getting her fair share of criticism. On Wednesday’s edition of the “Freddie & Harry” ESPN radio show, sports analyst Harry Douglas made a bold statement regarding Clark and Paige Bueckers.
“I’m sorry to say it folks, but everything we expected Caitlin Clark to be, Paige Bueckers has been in the WNBA.”
Douglas’ co-host Freddie Coleman followed this up by speculating that WNBA players might like Bueckers more than they do Clark.
Bueckers’s Dallas Wings (14-8) are fourth in the standings, three spots higher than the Fever (12-9).
