Brittney Griner was delighted when fans on social media compared her to the NBA’s LaMelo Ball for his ‘crop top’ practice look. The Charlotte Hornets are on a hot winning streak of four games currently and are placed ninth in the Eastern Conference, mounting a comeback in the second half of the 2025-26 regular season.
Griner, on the other hand, is currently part of Vinyl BC in the Unrivaled 3v3 women’s league, as her team secured a playoff berth this season after defeating Lunar Owls, 75‑68. The WNBA veteran scored 12 points while shooting six of nine attempts.
Fans on social media had a field day mocking the Hornets guard for looking like Griner from behind while he was practicing in Charlotte’s facility. The 10-time WNBA All-Star shared one of those posts on her Instagram story and wrote:
“Not even mad at this one lol
this comedy”
In the post that Griner shared, Ball was seen in a white tank top that was pulled up above his stomach, and his hair made him look a little like the WNBA player from behind.
Brittney Griner suffered a difficult phase amid her detention in Russia, after which she was brought to the US in a prisoner exchange. The 2025 WNBA season was not great for her after she began her journey with the Atlanta Dream.
Griner even wrote a book named ‘Coming Home,’ in which she detailed her experience of getting detained in Russia.
