Angel Reese Couldn’t Hide Her Excitement Over Serena and Venus Williams Running It Back At Wimbledon

Angel Reese expressed her excitement on Tuesday after Serena Williams and Venus Williams decided to team up once again in this year’s Wimbledon tournament. The Williams sisters are two of the most popular tennis players and share 30 Grand Slam titles between them. The Atlanta Dream forward backed the tennis legends on their highly anticipated return to the court.

Serena retired after the 2022 U.S. Open, while Venus has continued playing professionally. However, the two sisters have announced their anticipated return to professional tennis at Wimbledon.

The tournament’s Instagram account shared the update:

    “Back together, at Wimbledon 💚💜

Serena and Venus Williams will compete in the Ladies’ Doubles at The Championships 2026.”

Reese, who is also one of the icons of women’s sports, shared her thoughts on Wimbledon’s announcement:

    “OMFG YESSSS🤍🫂😩♥️ i can’t wait”

Meanwhile, Angel Reese and the Dream (9-4) registered a dominant 102-77 victory at the Toronto Tempo on Sunday. The center had a massive game on the boards, contributing 15 points and 17 rebounds, including 11 offensive rebounds, which turned the game towards the Dream.

However, the win was not without its share of controversy.

Angel Reese seemingly in tears after a hard Flagrant Foul 2 on her

Angel Reese and the Dream were engaged in a heated battle in the third quarter of the game in Toronto, leading 52-42. When Reese got the ball in the paint, she went for her signature push to the defender, looking to lay the ball in.

However, Tempo center Isabelle Harrison pulled Reese towards her, disturbing Reese’s balance and taking Reese with her to the floor. Although the Dream staff and other players stopped any altercation between the two hoopers, Harrison was given a Flagrant 2 foul.

When Reese came out to take free throws, she was seemingly in tears but managed to hold her emotions back.

Reese is often surrounded by controversies on and off the court. However, her addition to the Dream has unlocked the roster this season, leading the team to a positive start. She will next face her longtime rival, Caitlin Clark, once again this season — on Thursday in Indiana and on Saturday in Atlanta — after the Dream suffered an 83-74 loss in the last game against the Indiana Fever on June 4.
