“And a Legend in Turnovers”: Fans Split as Caitlin Clark Makes Bold “Best Transition Player” Claim at Fever Media Day

Caitlin Clark featured in the media day of the Indiana Fever before the new 2026 WNBA season kicks off. She answered several questions about her team and the new signees. When asked how the practice camp and the pre-season games have impacted her game, the elite point guard did not hesitate in calling herself “the best transition player in the league.”

Clark is one of the best point guards in the league, who is as efficient in laying out the offense as scoring from anywhere on the floor. However, she also commits more than five turnovers every game. Fans quickly let her know the reality when the guard claimed that she was the best in the transition game.

Another fan suggested that the debate should be between Britney Griner and Lauren Betts and wrote:

“While I appreciate Caitlin’s candidness I’m not sure I agree she’s the best trans in the league. Far too feminine. It’s between Britney Griner and Lauren Betts IMO.”

One more user stated that her claim did not have any material in it and wrote:

“Wow she really is a problem. Just arrogant for no good reason. Calling yourself the best transition player in the whole W at year 3 is delusional. Personality is trash”

Another user did not like that statement from Clark and wrote:

Caitlin Clark is getting way to cocky. The @WNBA gave her too much attention and credit. She was a rookie last year. She is in her second year playing pro. She is not a vet.”

However, other users hailed Clark for being confident in her game and backed her statement. One wrote:

“he’s right tho her transition game is straight nasty”

Clark is no doubt one of the best to lead a fast break, as her court vision and ability to share the ball are a lethal combination whenever the team goes coast to coast. Moreover, the Fever is one of the highest-scoring teams when it comes to fast breaks and transition plays.

“Getting off the ball and catching a breath,” Caitlin Clark highlights plans for next season

When talking about Raven Johnson and Tyasha Harris joining the team to help in her position, Caitlin Clark was relieved to have someone else handle the ball. She remarked that she was getting exhausted bringing the ball up the floor and was looking forward to sharing that duty with youngsters.

Clark said during the aforementioned media day:

“Getting off the ball little bit and catching a breath, like it is exhausting bringing the ball 94 feet up with pressure every single time, so we certainly need to find somebody who can handle the ball a little bit and give me a little bit of break.”

Caitlin Clark will be seen healthy after a long time in the Fever jersey, looking to add to their run this season and finally get them to a title-contending spot. The management has made several decisions in free agency and tried to keep the core intact, with other crucial pieces to help the team.
