Michelle Obama stood up in support of Angel Reese when the Atlanta Dream forward featured on the former First Lady of the United States’ podcast. Mrs. Obama revealed her choice in the WNBA and also shared her thoughts on the high-profile rivalry. She also addressed the criticism Reese receives online, mainly for her rivalry with Caitlin Clark.
Obama warned the naysayers and stated that nobody should mess with Angel Reese. Former POTUS Barack Obama’s wife said:
“You’re a special, special person, and I am saying that to the world, don’t mess with this girl, don’t mess with her spirit. Do not mess with this angel. Stop it, just stop it!”
Reese and Clark have been a topic of discussion among fans even before they joined the pro league. Even though the LSU Tigers won the NCAA championship against Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes, the Iowa youngster has garnered a lot of support due to her all-around game.
Clark has the upper hand in that rivalry, as the Indiana Pacers have dominated Reese and the Chicago Sky in the season series. The elite guard also won the Rookie of the Year title in 2024.
Angel Reese shares cryptic post for her naysayers
Angel Reese recently took to X and stated that she would prevail against all odds and criticism in the WNBA. Even though it seemed like a cryptic post, the message behind the tweet was rather clear.
Reese wrote:
“No weapon formed against me shall prosper. Covered, protected, chosen. Always.”
Angel Reese will now look for a title-contending run with her new team, the Atlanta Dream. Along with Allisha Gray, the elite rebounder and the double-double machine, will strengthen the Dream’s frontcourt, as the franchise hopes to transform them into a championship squad.
