The new EA Sports College Football 25 game will be playable on PlayStation5 and Xbox Series X/S, so get ready to upgrade your old system, if needed. The game officially won’t be available on PC, as revealed on Thursday, May 16.
Unlike a few other newer games, the EA Sports College Football game will not be backward compatible with consoles like the xBox One and PlayStation4, meaning that users with those consoles will be forced to upgrade to the latest and greatest version of their preferred systems to access the game.

This means that the EA Sports College Football 25 game will not be compatible previous generations of the PlayStation and xBox, even if those systems are up to date. This is probably the sign to upgrade to the newest version and buy either a PlayStation5 of xBox Series X/S.
While that news may be unfortunate for some users, there is a silver lining. All indications are that Crossplay will be enabled for EA Sports College Football 25. This means that PlayStation users will be able to play online against xBox users and vice versa.
Unlike previous versions of the game, which has not been released in nearly 11 years, the players in the game will have real names that match the players on the real life teams. Also in the game are the Road to Glory and Dynasty modes that have excited fans even to this day.
Players and schools will still have to opt in to the use of their Name, Image, and Likeness in the game, so while few and far between, there may be a player or team here and there that is absent from the game.
EA Sports college football will release on July 19, with early access available to players who buy the non-standard version.
