Deion Sanders and the Colorado team are probably used to making headlines for various reasons throughout the year, especially when it comes to getting criticized online.
Now that the Buffaloes have started their spring practice for the 2026 college football season in an effort to turn things around after the disastrous 3-9 season in 2025, the team has already started receiving flak from the internet over a viral video.
A recent clip of two Colorado players getting into a physical brawl went viral, with many individuals starting to wonder whether Coach Prime has things under control.
Reacting to the situation, On3’s J.D. PicKell opined that the ”internet people” will take this opportunity to put down Deion Sanders and company. However, he believes some edge and passion are required in the spring practice.
“There are football people, there are internet people. Internet people say, ‘Oh, Colorado again, man. We told y’all for a while. Bad culture. Coach, what’s he got going on over there? Get your team under control, fighting on the first couple of days of spring practice. Colorado, no reason they lost a bunch of games last year, huh? That’s what it was.
Colorado’s the dumpster fire, man. Look at that practice fight. It’s not good.’
Bad culture writing off Colorado because of a 10-second clip of a couple of dudes scrapping during spring practice,” PicKell said.
“Football people look at that and say, ‘Yeah, it’s practice. Yeah, it’s the first couple of days of spring practice. They get to actually play some football for the first time in who knows how long. Yeah, they better mix it up. There should be some violence and some uh some extra edge to everybody,'” he added.
Deion Sanders Mourns the Death of Colorado QB Dominiq Ponder
The Colorado team received devastating news last week when their ex-quarterback Dominiq Ponder’s tragic death made the headlines.
Ponder was involved in an unfortunate car crash while driving a Tesla on Sunday at 3 a.m., which left many Colorado players and alumni devastated.
Ponder’s head coach, Deion Sanders, wrote a heartfelt message on the tragic news and sent his condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones.
Coach Prime also shared that “Dom” was among his favorite players on the team and said that he was a loved, respected, and born leader.
”God please comfort the Ponder family, friends & Loved ones. Dom was one of my favorites! He was Loved, Respected & a Born Leader. Let’s pray for all that knew him & had the opportunity to be in his presence. Lord you’re receiving a good 1. Comfort us Lord Comfort us,” Deion Sanders wrote on X.
Deion Sanders asked the Buffaloes if they wanted to continue the scheduled practice two days after hearing the news, opining that it would be what Dominiq would’ve wanted.
