Ex-Alabama star Ty Simpson had an impressive 2025 season. However, while he was able to display his skills in 8-9 of the games, his injuries got the better of him in the last leg of the season, which resulted in him not performing as well as the fans expected.
While many fans and analysts expected Simpson to return to college, as he has just one year as a starter under his belt, the ex-Alabama star shared that he wanted to go to the league despite getting $6.5M in NIL offers from other schools.
Simpson is reported to be visiting the Cleveland Browns as the 2026 NFL Draft nears.
“QB room getting even worse,” one fan reacted.
”wait, hold the phone, the team that has Pro Bowler Shedeur Sanders at the position is looking into QB in this year’s draft? why would they do that? 🤣🤣” another fan asked.
”Gotta be making the’ Sanders 🧠 trust nervous’ You know the Royal won’t go back to’ 3′ or the practice squad,” another fan conspired.
”That’s explain why Cleveland is and will continue to be bad for years,” another fan bluntly added.
”God NO BERRY you wasted 2 picks last draft don’t waste another,” another fan added.
”This visit confirms the Browns are seriously considering Ty Simpson with the 24th pick, as taking him at 6 would be a major reach. Given Deshaun Watson’s massive contract and uncertain future, drafting a QB2 to develop makes sense for Cleveland’s long-term planning,” another fan shared their thoughts.
Todd McShay Makes Shocking Ty Simpson, Fernando Mendoza Confession
During a recent conversation with Rich Eisen, Todd McShay shared his analysis, saying there isn’t much of a difference between Fernando Mendoza and Ty Simpson.
Mendoza, who won the Heisman Trophy for the 2025 season along with the national title, is considered the best quarterback of the 2026 draft class, and according to McShay, Simpson isn’t too far behind the Indiana star.
McShay said the difference between Simpson and Mendoza is not as big as fans believe, as when you compare the best games of both players, they paint a similar picture.
“If you were kind of dropped into this as an NFL coach, right, and you were handed the first eight or even nine tapes for both Mendoza and Simpson, I promise you Simpson’s tapes better. It just is. Now, Simpson’s 6’1, he’s 211 lbs. He’s got 15 starts. In his one year as a starter, he wasn’t able to stay healthy throughout the year.” McShay said.
McShay pointed out that Mendoza’s tapes aren’t too great against Iowa.
