Top 10 Ty Simpson Memes As Alabama QB Gets Benched In Beatdown vs Indiana

Fans online trolled Alabama Crimson Tide starting quarterback Ty Simpson after his team’s disappointing exit from the 2025 season. On Thursday, Dec. 1, Simpson and the rest of coach Kalen DeBoer‘s Crimson Tide squad went up against coach Curt Cignetti’s Indiana Hoosiers in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, for their college football playoffs quarterfinal matchup.

Simpson and company will have to try again next year in the 2026 collegiate football season, as they have been officially eliminated from postseason play following an abysmal 38-3 loss to the Hoosiers. The Crimson Tide finished the year with an 11-4 (7-1 SEC) overall record, and are now out of contention, despite being the first overall seed coming out of the SEC.

College football fans went rampant over criticizing Simpson’s chances at the next level of football after college, the NFL.

Other users went all out discussing Simpson’s recent performance during the all-important affair for his team.

For many onlookers, the comparisons to his contemporaries are invalid in the sense that Simpson may not be up to par with them.

Ty Simpson Was Apparently Benched Due To An Aggravated Injury

According to a report by Jeff Hauser, published on Yahoo! Sports, the reason why Ty Simpson was benched in the second half for Austin Mack was that he hadaggravated his elbow injury and felt pain in it by halftime. This was confirmed by sideline reporter Kris Budden during the heated matchup.

“This is going to be Austin Mack’s ballgame for Alabama. They have benched Ty Simpson. This is a coach’s decision because of what occurred after a hit in the first half. He received treatment during halftime, and every time he would throw the ball, he was grimacing. Just did not have the zip on it,” Budden was quoted as saying in the broadcast.
