Williams opened her BNP Paribas Open campaign on March 6, where she faced Diane Parry at Court 1. The audience witnessed a head-to-head competition in this clash, where eventually, the French player registered victory after winning the first and third sets of the match (6-3, 6-7 (7), 6-1). This upset marked an early end to her tournament, raising her early-loss streak to 5-0.
She also competed in the mixed doubles match with Christian Harrison on her team. They faced an early loss in this too, as their contenders, Julian Cash and Demi Schuurs, registered a 6-4, 6-2 win.

Williams is currently scheduled to compete at the Miami Open and is entering the tournament as a wildcard alongside Sloane Stephens. The tournament is slated for March 17 to 29 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Venus Williams opened her 2026 campaign at the ASB Classic, where she suffered an early loss against Magda Linette in the first round. The latter registered a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 victory against the American.
Following this tournament, she competed in four tournaments, including the Hobart International, Australian Open, ATX Open, and Indian Wells, and faced early exits in the first round in each one of them.

After her upset at Indian Wells, Venus Williams addressed the media at the press conference, where she weighed in on her game at the tournament. She said that the conditions weren’t suitable for her, and her game at the ATX Open was also affected by the difficult conditions.
“Well, I think today is not the kind of day that you want to assess. The conditions are impossible. Also, my match in Austin the conditions were impossible. I have played the last two matches in very difficult conditions. In Austin I refused to relent and change my game and I lost very quickly,” said Venus Williams.
She added:
“Today I tried to adjust. It’s not easy. You can’t trust anything that you do out there. So you should get out there and play in that wind and you’ll tell me too if you can create some magic or if you can be perfect or not.”
