Ben Shelton made his way to the finals of the Stuttgart Open after delivering a stunning performance in the semifinals. His game caught the attention of his girlfriend, Trinity Rodman, who quickly shared a sweet message for him online.
After opening the Stuttgart Open campaign in the round of 16 against Marcos Giron, Shelton defeated Sho Shimabukuro in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinal round. In this round he locked horns with Jiri Lehecka and indulged in an almost three-hour thriller. He saved two match points during the second-set tiebreak and eventually claimed an impressive 6-7(7), 7-6(14), 7-6(6) victory.
Shortly after his victory, his girlfriend and soccer player, Rodman, dropped a sweet reaction online. She shared a video of the American celebrating during the match on her Instagram story and exuding pride in him, she wrote:
“One of the most entertaining matched I’ve watched 🙂 Proud of u no matter the day❤️”

While Shelton is busy focusing on nabbing the title of the Boss Open, Rodman is currently in Brazil for the US camp. Most recently, she shared an adorable picture of her and the tennis player embracing the long distance. Talking to her Instagram handle, she posted a picture of them FaceTiming together on a beach.

After prevailing over Jiri Lehecka in the semifinal round of the 2026 Boss Open, Ben Shelton spoke to the media, weighing in on his clash against the Czech player. Addressing the dramatic play, he said that tennis is unpredictable and said that there are a lot of ways to win a match.
Lauding his opponents in the tournament so far and giving Lehecka a shoutout, he said:
“Sometimes tennis doesn’t go to plan. I lost the first set in every single match I played. That can make things difficult, but there are a lot of ways to win a match. I’ve been choosing the most difficult route, but my opponents have played great matches. Shoutout to Jiri. I thought he played an outstanding match today. I thought the level was really high,” said Ben Shelton.
In 2026 so far, Ben Shelton has won two titles so far, including the Dallas Open and the BMW Open. He is now looking forward to lifting the Stuttgart Open’s trophy after his upcoming finals against Taylor Fritz on June 14 at the Centre Court.
