Madison Keys Teases Anxious Men’s Players For Ruining the Locker Room Vibe With French Open Panic

Madison Keys recently jokingly teased the men’s players for their growing anxiety about the French Open’s outcome and ruining the locker room vibe of the tournament. She urged them to focus on their present matches.

Keys kickstarted her 2026 French Open campaign on Tuesday, May 26, against Hanne Vandewinkel at the Court Simonne-Mathieu. After earning a straight-sets win against the Belgian player, she contested against Antonia Ruzic in the second round and again registered a 6-4, 6-4 victory. Following this, she most recently locked horns with Victoria Mboko in the third round, giving fans a tight match to witness.

The American started on a strong note, winning the first set; however, the second set was owned by her opponent. In the third and the deciding set, Keys dominated the game, claiming a 6-3, 5-7, 7-5 win. After this victory, she sat for a press conference, where she highlighted the men’s singles situation at the French Open, as almost all the top seeds have crashed out of the tournament.

With the current situation, the men’s players are worried about who’s going to make it to the finals after the fall of top seeds Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, and more. Emphasizing the situation, Keys teased the players for being so anxious and affecting the environment of the tournament. Suggesting they worry about their present matches instead of the finals, she said:

“I think we’ve seen in the men’s scores today that they’re all really worried about who’s going to be in the finals. And not on the match today. So we’ve seen lots of men’s tennis today, and I feel like their anxiety is slowly like seeping into everyone’s lives. So hopefully they can kind of make it through that and feel a little bit better and stop worrying about the final Sunday and worrying about, you know, today, tomorrow, and, but I do think that it’s always kind of exciting when crazy things happen, so, as a tennis fan, it’s been fun to watch,” said Madison Keys.

Madison Keys made her feelings known about her R3 win at the French Open

After prevailing over Victoria Mboko in the third round of Roland Garros, Madison Keys spoke to the press, where she weighed in on her match and her victory. Stating that she was ecstatic with her performance and opening up about her comeback in the third set after losing the second set, she said:

“Super tough match, which was expected. I think mostly really happy with being able to kind of rebound after that second set. And be able to put myself back in the position to win sometimes is the hardest thing. So, I think that’s what I’m overall happiest with,” said Madison Keys.

After her terrific first three rounds, Madison Keys is now scheduled to compete against Diana Shader in the fourth round on June 1, 2026.
