Naomi Osaka Sends Powerful Message To Fellow Introverts About Finding Their Voice

Naomi Osaka recently shared a powerful message for fellow introverts, weighing in on them finding their own voice.

Osaka, who is preparing for the Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington and recently faced backlash for her outfit choices from the Russian player, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, penned a strong message for introverts. Reflecting on the importance of speaking up and expressing one’s opinions, she wrote on Threads:

“Dear Introvert, There will come a time when you finally feel comfortable enough to voice your opinions and stand up for yourself. When that day comes please smile because your life is about to change,” wrote Naomi Osaka.

Osaka was last seen in action at Wimbledon, where she defeated several players, including Anastasia Gasanova, Daria Kasatkina, and Aryna Sabalenka to reach the quarterfinals. However, her run ended with a (7-6(4), 6-4) loss to Karolina Muchova in the quarterfinals.

Along with her strong performance at the Grand Slam, the Japanese player also garnered attention with her outfit. She wore a custom all-white, kimono-inspired outfit designed by Tokyo-based Hana Yagi. Underneath, she sported her Nike kit, which had custom woven pleats and seven 3D floral appliques along the side.

The kit was priced at $185 on Nike’s website and was sold out in hours after release.

Naomi Osaka opened up about her run at the Wimbledon Championships

After her quarterfinal loss to Karolina Muchova at Wimbledon, Naomi Osaka reflected on her campaign during the post-match press conference. When asked about the positives she could take from both the match and the tournament, Osaka pointed to her deepest-ever run at Wimbledon as a major takeaway. She said:

“I mean, the tournament as a whole, it’s the furthest I’ve gotten here. For me, that’s a positive. Obviously I would have loved to get a lot farther. As of today, like, if I think about my match today, it’s hard for me to immediately think of something positive. I feel like it’s hard ’cause I played so well in my last match, then today I just feel like I didn’t play well at all and I didn’t have any energy. I mean, the score was pretty good for what it was, I guess,” said Naomi Osaka.

She further revealed whether she felt closer to winning a Grand Slam after her performance at the All England Club. She added:

“I mean, that’s a tough question. Like I know my results don’t show it, but whenever I play a slam, my intention is to win. And obviously last year I got to the semis. I wanted so desperately to be in the final to have that opportunity, but Amanda played insane. I honestly wasn’t even mad that she won. This one is a little more upsetting to me because I feel like there was so much more I could have done. I think maybe I should find the positive in that because I’ve gotten to the quarters and I feel like I can still improve so much as a player. Yeah, I feel like in my head I think there’s still an opportunity to win a slam.”

Naomi Osaka opened her 2026 season at the Australian Open, where she was forced to withdraw from the third round due to a recurring left abdominal injury.
