Naomi Osaka Lost For Words After ‘Heated Rivalry’ Catches Her Off Guard Days After Coco Gauff

Naomi Osaka is gearing up to participate in the first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open, at Melbourne Park. This is a surface that she knows well, as she has triumphed here twice, in 2019 and 2021. The Japanese star has been building on her playing style and fitness level ever since she returned to the tour after becoming a mother and fighting postpartum depression.

Osaka capped off the 2025 season by reaching the semifinals of the US Open, where she lost to Amanda Anisimova. She also reached the final of the Canadian Open but lost to unseeded Victoria Mboko.

Osaka’s 2026 campaign began with her representing Japan at the United Cup, where she played two matches, losing the first and winning the second, as Japan was knocked out in the group stage.

While the Japanese star trains hard for the Australian Open, she has also taken some time out for relaxation, offering an insight into how she has spent her leisure hours recently. In her latest Instagram story, Osaka shared her honest reaction after finishing the first season of a highly rated sports drama series, “Heated Rivalry.”

“I didn’t know I could feel these types of feelings,” wrote Osaka.

Naomi Osaka is not the first tennis player to talk about the said series.

Like Naomi Osaka, Coco Gauff Was Left Speechless by “Heated Rivarly”

On January 9, Coco Gauff took to social media to express her amazement at the show “Heated Rivalry.” Gauff even rated the show a perfect 10.
“Heated rivalry… lemme give you your 10s,” wrote Gauff.
Like Osaka, Gauff kicked off her Australian swing at the United Cup in Sydney. Gauff and Team USA’s valiant run came to a halt in the semifinals on Saturday, January 10, after they lost to Poland. The 21-year-old American won her match in the semifinals, as she dispatched World No. 2 Iga Swiatek in straight sets.
The Australian Open will commence on January 18, where both Gauff and Osaka will be eyeing a dominant run to challenge a fierce lineup, as women’s tennis continues to rise.
