Following their runs at the 2026 Miami Open, Jessica Pegula and Madison Keys will compete at the Charleston Open. The WTS 500 tournament is set to commence on March 30, with the final rounds held on April 6, 2026. The faceoffs will be held at the Credit One Stadium in South Carolina.
The WTA tournament is one of the biggest women’s tennis events in North America, played on a clay court every year. It is one of the oldest women’s tennis tournaments. On that note, let’s take a look at the details of the upcoming edition.
Players and Draw at the 2026 Charleston Open
The former world No 2 Paula Badosa, former Australian Open finalist Jennifer Brady, 2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu, and the Grand Slam winner Sloane Stephens have received the wildcard entry. World No 5 and defending champion Jessica Pegula will enter as the top seed and has received a bye into round 2. If she dominates the tournament, the American will become the first woman to defend the title since Serena Williams in 2013.
Following Amanda Anisimova’s withdrawal due to an injury, Ekaterina Alexandrova will replace her as the second seed. The top 16 seeds have received a bye to the second round. It also features the winners of the 2022 and 2019 editions, Belinda Bencic and Madison Keys, respectively. A few of the six direct entries are given to Sofia Kenin, Leylah Fernandez, and Hailey Baptiste. Leylah Fernandez and Maria Sakkari will also enter as the top 10 seeds.

The WTA 500 tournament has doubled its prize money for 2026, with the total prize bag reaching to $2.5 million. It awarded $1,064,510 last year, out of which Jessica Pegula bagged $164,000 for her victory. The prize money and ranking points in Charleston are given below.

Finalist: $218,225 – 325 rankings points
Semifinalists: $110,370 – 195 rankings points
Quarterfinalists: $55,200 – 108 rankings points
Round of 16: $27,870 – 60 rankings points
Round of 32: $17,230 – 32 rankings points
Round of 48: $13,830 – 1 ranking point
The doubles champions will be awarded 117,320 and 500 ranking points.
