Flavio Cobolli Promises Lifelong Commitment To Girlfriend Matilde After Reching Delray Beach SF

Falvio Cobolli had a beautiful message for his girlfriend, Matilde, who was in attendance as the rising Italian star advanced to the semifinals of the Delray Beach Open on Thursday in Florida. The tournament’s third seed battled past unseeded Coleman Wong in three grueling sets to set up a semifinal clash with American Sebastian Korda.

After his thrilling quarterfinal win, Cobolli addressed the media for a brief post-game interview, during which, in addition to reflecting on the match, he expressed his gratitude to his girlfriend with a heartwarming message.

“Maybe, maybe not, but for sure, for my mental condition, it’s helped for sure. Because she stays with me all the day. She knows me very well. She knows when she has to talk with me. She knows when I need time,” Cobolli said.

“So it’s very nice to be here with her. She starts to work next week. So maybe the last five, six days that she’s with me. What can I say? Thanks. Thanks to Mati. I’m sure that she’s going to be my girl for the rest of my life,” he added.

Cobolli did not have a pleasant start to his 2026 season. With first-round exits in the Australian Open and Dallas Open. However, the positive run at the Delray Open has given the Italian a fighting chance to win the ATP 250 event and finally win silverware since winning his maiden ATP 500-level tournament in Hamburg last year.

Flavio Cobolli Will Aim to Finally Register a Win Against Korda in the Delray Beach Open SF

Cobolli is winless against Korda in their previous two meetings. The American had defeated the young Italian both times they met in a three-set match about two years ago. Cobolli’s most recent loss to Korda came in the 2024 Washington Open (ATP 500) final, where, despite a hard-fought title run, the Italian was defeated in three competitive sets.

Now, Cobolli will aim to register his first win against Korda on the ATP circuit as the Italian eyes his maiden silverware of the year. The winner of the match will take on the winner of the other semifinal, which will be an all-American affair between Tommy Paul and Learner Tien.
