Coco Gauff Wishes for Everlasting Love Like Her Grandparents’ As She Fondly Looks At Their High-School Prom Pic

Coco Gauff took a stroll down memory lane by sharing a charming high school photo of her grandparents from their prom night while wishing for a lasting love like theirs. The 22-year-old American is enjoying time with her family and friends while also preparing for the European clay season.

On Tuesday, Gauff posted an image from her grandparents’ high school prom and wrote a heartfelt wish for eternal love like theirs, since the couple has been together since their school days.

“My grandparents at their high school prom. I need a love like theirs, still together to this day,” Gauff shared on her Instagram story.

Gauff’s grandparents, Yvonne Lee Odom and Eddie “Red” Odom, have been influential civil rights activists for their community in Delray Beach, Florida. Eddie has been a trailblazer in the field of equal education and sports rights for the underprivileged youth.

While Yvonne became the first female student of color to integrate Seacrest High School in Delray, Eddie founded the Delray Beach American Little League in 1971 to help aspiring youth find their rhythm on the diamond after his dreams of becoming a major leaguer had been dealt a major blow.

Gauff draws inspiration from the positive and rich attributes of her grandparents and strives to make an impact on others’ lives, just as they did in Delray Beach, Florida. Miami serves as a special place in the World No. 3’s heart, and it was a pleasant sight when she reached the Miami Open final last month to cap off the Sunshine Double on a high note. She lost to Aryna Sabalenka.

Coco Gauff to Resume Play on the WTA Tour in Stuttgart

With less than a week left before the start of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, Gauff is gearing up to defend a high volume of ranking points in the claycourt swing.

The WTA 500 commences on April 13, before all the top seeds shift to Spain for the Mutua Madrid Open (WTA 1000) to cap off the proceedings for April.

Gauff will aim to carry the positive momentum from Miami into the European clay swing, hoping it culminates in the successful defense of her French Open title in Paris.
