    “Playing Roger Federer Every Round” – Carlos Alcaraz Shares Honest Feelings About Opponents Going Extra High Level Against Him

    Carlos Alcaraz opens up about his contenders playing on an extra high level with him. The Spaniard is currently competing at the Indian Wells Masters, which commenced on March 4 and will finish on March 15 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, California.

    Alcaraz’s most recent outing was on March 10 against Arthur Rinderknech, where the audience got to witness a head-to-head showdown. The latter started on a strong note, winning the first set; however, the world No. 1 picked up his momentum and claimed a 6-7(8), 6-3, 6-2 win. With this triumph, he advanced to the Round of 16, where he will meet Casper Ruud on March 12.

    In the post-match press conference of his clash against Rinderknech, the Spaniard was asked about his opponent’s playing at a crazy high level against him. Responding to this, he said that he sometimes gets tired of playing Roger Federer in every round, signifying the level at which his opponents are playing against him.

    “Well, to be honest, I just sometimes get tired about playing Roger Federer every round. Yeah, sometimes just feel like, yeah, they playing really an insane level. I don’t know if I’m feeling not the right way, but I feel it’s just against me all the time. If they play like, you know, that level every match, they should be higher in the ranking. But, you know, obviously is something that concern me. When I’m just playing, I think about that,” said Carlos Alcaraz.

    He added:

    “You know, all can I do is just accept it, keep it going, trying to, like, do different things in the match, trying to, you know, try not to let him be aggressive or playing his style, trying to, you know, put my style, my tennis, my level into the match and trying to turn around the things that what I try to do. But obviously the first thing is just accept it.”

    Before the Indian Wells Masters, Alcaraz competed at the Qatar Open, where he won the title after besting Arthur Fils in the finals.

    One of the major problems that tennis players face during their tournaments is not having enough private space after their showdowns on the court. However, this isn’t the problem at Indian Wells, as informed by Carlos Alcaraz. In the aforementioned press conference, he was questioned about how the tournament creates experiences that players enjoy.

    Responding to this, he said:

    “I think it’s really peaceful here. We just feel like everything is really nice. We have our areas to warm up, we don’t feel like we’re tight, all the players. We have a lot of spaces to chill and hang out. It’s great. Obviously I think a lot of players love playing golf. I think here that’s the paradise, and I think that’s what at this tournament builds great vibes,” said Carlos Alacraz.

    Carlos Alcaraz has had a dominating 2026 season so far. Before winning the Qatar Open title, he opened his season at the Australian Open, where he defeated Novak Djokovic in the finals to nab the Grand Slam victory.
