Ben Shelton’s Girlfriend Trinity Rodman Makes Bold Claim About Jannik Sinner & American After Australian Open Heartbreak

Ben Shelton lost his ninth straight encounter against Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. He lost the encounter in three straight sets, taking the tally to 22 sets he has conceded to the Italian consecutively.

While it must be heartbreaking for the American sensation, his girlfriend and soccer star Trinity Rodman is proud of his efforts. Rodman recently appeared on The Pat McAfee Show, where she acknowledged Shelton’s challenge against a tough opponent in Sinner. However, she believes that one day, Shelton will be able to take down the World No. 2.

“Yeah, Sinner’s pretty good,” Rodman said. “So I think at some point Ben will get him, but he’s getting better and better and I’m proud of him for sure.”

After winning against Shelton, Sinner will face Novak Djokovic in the semifinals on Friday as he looks set to defend his Australian Open title.

Trinity Rodman Unfurls On Love With Ben Shelton

Trinity Rodman and Ben Shelton reportedly started dating around March last year. The American pro uploaded a cozy selfie from the elevator to make their relationship official. Since then, the two have been to each other’s matches. Rodman attended Shelton’s matches at Wimbledon and the US Open. Meanwhile, Shelton was also at the NWSL championship game, where he consoled Rodman as her Washington Spirit were defeated.

During her appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, she gave an insight into her young love with Shelton and how the two athletes respect each other’s profession.

“I mean, it’s amazing,” Rodman said. “Like you said, we’re just like little kids in love, that’s what it feels like. But it’s been amazing being able to support each other in different sports. It’s cool. He’s learning a lot about soccer, I’m learning a lot about tennis. And then on top of that, just doing fun things together, I mean, obviously, being pro athletes, you get a lot of opportunities together.

“So we’re just taking advantage of those, but also when we’re off, we’re kind of isolated, and we’re taking advantage of that too.”

Rodman is also enjoying herself after signing the richest deal in NWSL history. After a period of lengthy negotiations, she set a new benchmark by signing a three-year contract worth over $2 million annually, including bonuses.
