Ben Shelton is delivering powerful performances at the 2026 Australian Open. After his recent third-round win, the American received a heartfelt cheer from his girlfriend, Trinity Rodman, who is also a soccer player for the Washington Spirit.
After riveting performances in the first two rounds at Melbourne Park, Shelton locked horns with Valentin Vacherot on Saturday, and secured an impressive 6-4, 6-4, 7-6(5) victory.
Following this win, the World No. 7 received a cheer from his biggest supporter, Rodman. The latter posted a picture of Shelton playing on Instagram and praised him for advancing to the fourth round. She penned a sweet and motivating message that read:
“Keep going😍😮💨 @benshelton”

The tennis pro started dating Rodman in early 2025. They initially soft-launched their relationship by posting videos on TikTok with the same song, hinting at their association. Days after speculations around their relationship, they hard-launched their relationship by posting adorable pictures with each other on social media.
Trinity Rodman was supporting him from the stands during his Auckland run at the start of the 2026 season. However, she is not present at the Australian Open, fulfilling her soccer commitments instead. Just yesterday, Rodman confirmed her future with the Spirit, getting a new $1,000,000 deal.
Ben Shelton gets real about playing at the Australian Open
Following his win against Valentin Vacherot in the Australian Open’s third round, Ben Shelton spoke to the media in his on-court interview.
Shelton took pride at the fact that he is always able to pull out his ‘best tennis’ in Melbourne, and also shared a message for his fans, saying:
“Yeah, 100%. I think that there’s a reason why I play so well here. I always pull out some of my best tennis here in Melbourne. And having the roof closed today just amplified the noise. So, thanks everybody for coming out. I’m not done yet. I hope you guys come back in two days time because I still got a lot to prove here,” said Ben Shelton.
“I don’t really leave my hotel, bro. Especially right now it’s too hot outside. Put the AC down to like 18 and uh just chill. But, no, I think that physically to recover is the most important piece when you get into the second week of a major.”
