According to the CFN Strength of Schedule, the TCU 2024 football schedule is the sixth most difficult in the Big 12. Furthermore, the Horned Frogs run the gauntlet of the 24th-ranked calendar in all of FBS college football. Returning to the highs of the 2022 college football season won’t be an easy task for the program as they prepare for life in a new-look Big 12.
Within their three-game out-of-conference slate, the Horned Frogs face bitter rivals and new ACC member, the SMU Mustangs, having beaten Dykes’ former team in the last two encounters. They also face a Stanford Cardinal team they’ve never lost to and non-FBS outfit, the LIU Sharks, giving the potential for three wins in their first four games. SMU will be no pushover, however.
In the midst of those games is the first Big 12 matchup on the TCU 2024 football schedule, as the Horned Frogs welcome the UCF Knights to Forth Worth. The first of five home matchups is the inaugural clash between the two teams. They’ll also face the Houston Cougars, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Oklahoma State Cowboys, and Arizona Wildcats at Amon G. Carter Stadium.

While having five home matchups is a bonus, several of those teams will be Big 12 contenders. They’ll then travel to the Utah Utes and Kansas Jayhawks, two more teams expected to compete at the very top of the new-look conference. The Horned Frogs lost to the Cincinnati Bearcats the last time they played in Ohio, and that game will wrap up a challenging season.
