“Gonna Get Us the Win”: Jordan Seaton Reveals Ed Orgeron’s Key Advice as he Begins LSU Journey

Incoming third-year offensive tackle Jordan Seaton is embarking on a new journey in the upcoming college football season. Seaton spent the first two years of college with coach Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes. Since then, after an intense round of recruitment by programs such as the Miami Hurricanes and the Oregon Ducks, Seaton has committed to play for the LSU Tigers in the 2026 campaign.

Currently in the offseason, Seaton has been getting ready to play for a new school under a new system. The young talent was recently interviewed by Louisiana-based sportscaster Jacques Doucet during a youth football camp he hosted. In the interview, Doucet asked Seaton if he had met LSU special assistant to recruitment and defense, Ed Orgeron. While reminiscing on it, Seaton revealed what advice Orgeron first gave him.

“It was crazy. Like, the first time he met me, he was like, ‘Hey, man, I seen you here.’ Uh, I was working in the gym around 9:00 PM. He’s like, ‘I seen you.’ He was like, ‘That’s the stuff that’s gonna get us the win.’ And then, I appreciate that. Yeah. But, I heard him before I seen him,” Seaton shared. (2:39)

Similar to Seaton, Orgeron joined the Louisiana-based program ahead of the 2026 season in the said role. He had been out of the college football realm for five years previously, after his stint as the Tigers’ head coach from 2016 to 2021. With Orgeron’s wealth of knowledge and wisdom on the game, it seems as though Seaton is glad to have him as one of his potential mentors at LSU.

Jordan Seaton has set his expectations clear on the 2026 LSU Tigers

In the same interview, Jordan Seaton was also asked what his expectations are for the LSU Tigers this year, as a team with rich history in the sport. With coach Lane Kiffin uncorking his first full season with the team, the Tigers are aiming to reach the college football playoff. For Seaton, he is solely focused on how the team can become the best it can be this offseason.

“As far as expectations, we just have a standard for ourselves, and the standard is more so we’re going to come in and work every day and do the best that we could do to be better at what we’re supposed to get better at that day. Yeah, we don’t really wanna look at the end goal, more so just work,” Seaton said. (3:02)
