It’s plenty clear by now that Shilo Sanders’ social media career is booming, possibly more than his football opportunities. The former defensive player lost his undrafted free agent opportunity with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was ejected from the team’s last preseason game for striking a fellow player.
Now, he mainly uses his enormous social media following and base to create content online. He’s mainly known for his Twitch live streams, which go back to his time as a college player.
In a recent stream that showed him playing Call of Duty, he joked around about maybe his life going in a military direction.
During the stream, he said:
“I’m not going to lie, this is real life, I would be kicked out of the military. No, ya’ll, we might be going to war, so I’m practicing right now… They said we’re going to war soon so I gotta get right. Ya’ll didn’t hear we are going to war? And everybody is going to get drafted.”
Why is Shilo Sanders Afraid of Being Drafted Into The US Armed Forces?
This is a reference to the current armed conflict between a US-Israeli-led coalition and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The military intervention, which received the name “Operation Epic Fury” for American forces, started on February 28th.
The stated objective of the operation is the destruction of Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile program and the dissolution of the Islamic Republic’s regime apparatus. The long-term head of state of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini, was eliminated early in the conflict.
The wider regional war is what has made people like Shilo Sanders fearful that the United States is being drawn into a long-term conflict.
