Sherrone Moore went from being the head coach of one of the strongest college football programs to getting fired and getting arrested overnight. In early December, Moore was fired as Michigan’s head coach for having an inappropriate relationship with a staff member named Paige Shiver.
Months after the incident, Moore was charged with two accounts and will face 18 months of probation along with a $1,000 fine, after he pleaded no contest to trespassing and malicious use of a telecommunications device involving a domestic relationship in exchange for dropping more serious charges, including a felony.
In a recent clip from Good Morning America’s interview with Shiver, she described her relationship with Moore as something that the former Michigan head coach had full control over.
Shiver highlighted that Moore had control over her emotions and career and alleged that the former head coach used it against her, drawing reactions from fans.
“Let it go. She is not a victim. She willing slept with a married man for years. She lied to the university multiple times,” one fan reacted.
“Like what does she need to publicly discuss regarding her illicit affair. She is a 32-year-old woman that should be held accountable for making her own decisions atp,” another fan shared their thoughts.
“Absolutely shameful reporting here. This is a waste of a news space that should be covering things that aren’t a clear manipulation tactic to financially profit off a bad situation that she put herself into,” another fan said.
‘Doing damage control now. I whole heartedly feel that if he was found guilty she probably never would’ve spoke on camera bc she would’ve got the win but since he wasn’t charged she’s trying to save her reputation lol,“ another fan wrote.
“’He had total control of me and manipulated me but I couldn’t leave him because he was miserable without me’ Sounds like she could’ve left at anytime. What a joke. Go get that bag,” another fan said.
“Her father is an NFL scout. Presumably used his network to help her get into the business, like any father would and should. Kinda feel for the guy,” another fan added.
Paige Shiver Expresses Disappointment After Sherrone Moore’s Sentencing
After Moore was sentenced to 18 months of probation on April 14, Shiver’s attorney expressed their disappointment in the intensity of the punishment. Shiver’s attorney told People that the sentence received by Moore does not reflect the seriousness of his unlawful conduct and aggressive attack on his client.
Moore was charged with trespassing after he broke into Shiver’s house and threatened to kill himself and her with a knife.
“The University enabled Moore and others in positions of authority within the Athletic Department, fostered the ongoing and escalating abuse, and advanced a culture that cared not about the hostile environment but instead was focused only on winning football games.” Shiver’s attorney said.
Shiver’s attorney also criticised the University of Michigan for looking the other way and allowing the client to be exploited and abused by Moore.
