Sometimes, even coaches have shown their softer side, and that includes Florida’s new head coach, Jon Sumrall. His wife, Ginny, spoke with Olivia Eisenhauer of WCJB TV20 and revealed that the coach actually likes pedicures and that he often gets them, even during the football season.
“He loves pedicures… That’s his favorite extra thing to do. Every two weeks during the football season, Jon loves to get a pedicure,” she said.
This had some mixed reactions from fans, with some people being unimpressed, while others gave him some support and solidarity. Meanwhile, others admitted they like getting pedicures as well.
“They will never make the playoffs with a soft coach,” one critic said.
“Actually got one once bc my feet were jacked up and it was honestly great. My toxic male ego won’t let me go back, though.” one commenter admitted.
“I go all the time with my daughter 🤣🤣🤣 my 🦶 doesn’t look like somthing chewed on it🤣🤣” another person replied.
“I guarantee you Curt Cignetti has never had a pedicure in his life.” said another person.
“My WWII veteran grandfather took care of his feet too. There’s nothing wrong with a man doing it.” one X user pointed out.
“Lot of uncultured fragile men in the comments not appreciating the greatness and luxury of a pedicure” added another person.
Jon Sumrall himself has earned a reputation for being a very gritty coach during his stints at Troy and Tulane and Florida is banking on him to make some changes and lead the team to the CFP, as he did with Tulane last season.
Jon Sumrall Bringing a Positive Attitude to Florida
With his first season as the new head coach over at Florida, Jon Sumrall spoke with members of the press during the SEC Media Days and said he will be having a positive attitude.
“I am a firm believer that the only disability in life is a bad attitude. I ain’t going to have a bad attitude. When things go bad I am still going to have a positive attitude. That’s not purple skies and butterflies. We are going to have some moments that don’t go our way. There will be adversity hit, but when adversity hits, I don’t change,” he said.
Sumrall now has a little over a month to get the Gators ready for next season as they kick things off at home against FAU on Sept. 5.
