Dan Orlovsky has been drawing flak from many fans and analysts for his consistent support of Ty Simpson and his claims of the former Alabama star being better than Fernando Mendoza.
Orlovsky first claimed that the gap between Simpson and Mendoza isn’t as big as the audience thinks it to be, and in one of his recent appearances on “Get Up,” he labelled the ex-Alabama QB the best quarterback in the draft class.
This statement didn’t sit well with Pat McAfee, who confronted the ESPN analyst about his claims and reminded him of the importance of how Mendoza performed in the more important games of the season vs Simpson.
McAfee highlighted that it seems like Orlovsky is getting paid to push the Simpson narrative ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, as many people have pointed out that both of them are represented by the same agency.
“Thank you so much for clowning this man.” One fan reacted.
“He had 6 points at half time” Ty Simpson, the guy that uses the same agency as you (I’m sure has nothing to do with it), had f**king ZERO points in the biggest game of the year and f**king quit on his team and didn’t finish. What an idiot.” Another fan pointed out.
“Media trying to make people watch draft, they want drama. This guy is being paid by agent to push Ty Simpson….Stop it. Mendoza is QB1.” Another fan wrote.
“Its because he’s helping out the client of his agency it’s pathetic he’s been wrong on almost every QB take cause well he was shit at QB his fame is going backwards out of the end zone how anyone gives him time of day is insane.” Another fan added.
“Dan is on a fast track to losing all his credibility.” Another fan predicted.
“Funny how Dan just IGNORES everything Mendoza has done and his only response is to run around the questions.” Another fan highlighted.
Colin Cowherd Makes Thoughts Clear on Concerns About Fernando Mendoza and The Raiders
Fernando Mendoza is projected to be the No.1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft and is predicted to land with the Las Vegas Raiders, as they have the top pick this year.
Talking about how it would be, Mendoza and Colin Cowherd expressed their concerns with the potential union.
During his analysis on February 17th, Cowherd shared that he isn’t concerned about Mendoza, but he does get worried about the Raiders as his “parent” in the league.
Cowherd pointed out the Raiders’ bad O-line and the franchise’s “good coach”, hinting that he is not the best.
“Ownership is impulsive; it’s ridiculously impatient. I don’t have a Mendoza issue. I have a Mendoza to the Raiders issue.” Cowherd said.
Mendoza finished the 2025 season with the Heisman trophy honor as well as the national championship title.
