The sports world is looking forward to one of the most anticipated and controversial events, The Enhanced Games, where athletes are openly allowed to consume performance-enhancing Drugs. The inaugural competition, which is nicknamed the ‘Doping Olympics,’ is slated for May 21 – 24, 2026, at Resorts World in Las Vegas.
The event’s financial backing has drawn significant political and media focus, as it is being funded by President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr. Here is the complete information of one of the most controversial events.
All about the Enhanced Games or the 2026 Doping Olympics
The Enhanced Games is a newly established, highly controversial international sports competition where athletes are legally allowed to use PEDs and cutting-edge technology. It is dubbed by the media and critics as the ‘Doping Olympics,’ and it doesn’t follow the traditional anti-doping rules under a pro-science and pro-athlete-compensation model.
Unlike the Olympics, which religiously follows the rules of the World Anti-Doping Agency, this competition has zero bans on substances like anabolic steroids, human growth hormones, or peptides. However, the rules that it follows are that all the substances used must be approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. Along with this, drugs, such as cocaine and heroin, are strictly prohibited.
The Enhanced Games will feature almost 40 to 50 elite athletes, and the initial sports that are inculcated in the competition are swimming, track and field, and weightlifting & strongman. One of the biggest attractions of this event is the $25 million prize pool. The athletes can earn up to $500,000 per event, and they who shatter a world record in the 100m sprint or 50m freestyle swim will receive a $1 million bonus.
Athletes, including the Australian three-time Olympic medalist James Magnussen, British silver medalist Ben Proud, and more, have signed on to compete at the event. One of the major hands behind the execution of the Enhanced Games is Donald Trump Jr.
All about Donald Trump Jr.’s investment at the Enhanced Games
US President Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., invested in the doping Olympics. In February 2025, it was announced that Trump Jr.’s firm, 1789 Capital, will engage in a multi-million-dollar investment for the event. The exact amount hasn’t been released publicly.
In one of his media conversations, Trump Jr. said that the traditional events have stopped the athletes from pushing their limits, and it will end with the Enhanced Games.
“For over 100 years, elites in charge of global sports have stifled innovation, crushed individual greatness, and refused to let athletes push the limits of what’s possible. That ends now. The Enhanced Games represent the future – real competition, real freedom, and real records being smashed,” said Trump Jr.
He added:
“This is about excellence, innovation, and American dominance on the world stage – something the MAGA movement is all about.”
Along with the 1789 Capital, the Enhanced Games is also being supported by crypto investors, including Balaji Srinivasan, Christian Angermayer, and the co-founder of PayPal, Peter Thiel.
