“All I Could Do Is Cry” – Selena Harris-Miranda Gets Emotional as Gators Edge No.1 Oklahoma in Closest SEC Title Margin in 45-Year Meet History

Florida Gators’ Selena Harris-Miranda expressed her emotions after her team’s victory at the 2026 Southeastern Conference Gymnastics Championships. The Gators dominated the tournament held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

No. 3 Florida posted 198.175 points to edge out No. 1 Oklahoma, with a thread-thin margin, as the latter scored 198.150. The 0.025 points gap marked the third time in the meet’s 45-year history that a champion was decided with that margin.
It also marked the program’s 13th SEC championship title. They won the tournament back-to-back in 2022 and 2023. The program’s senior gymnast, Harris-Miranda, posted a perfect score on bars.

Following their win, Harris-Miranda reflected on the team’s performance and highlighted her initial celebration. She also mentioned the team’s approach towards the tournament and the environment they competed in.

“It feels amazing. At first all I could do is cry then we were all screaming and jumping around. It just feels like the biggest accomplishment right now.

“When we started the meet, I just knew everything was going to fall into place. Especially when we started on beam. The energy wasn’t too high or too low. It just felt like Florida territory the whole time we were here. That made everyone feel more at ease. Obviously, it ended up really good.”

Harris-Miranda placed third in the all-around event after bagging 39.65 points. The senior recorded a perfect score for the second year in a row, clinching it in vault at last year’s edition.

Florida Gators’ Kayla Di Cello Opens Up On Why Her Team Clinched Victory At The SEC Championships

Florida Gators’ Kayla Di Cello opined that the team was successful because they were prepared and confident. She expressed her pride in her team for making correct adjustments and executing the same performances as they do in training.

“We put all the pieces together today,” Di Cello said. “Everyone looked super confident out there, even from our practice from the day before. We took every turn that we needed and figured out the adjustments needed. This is how we look when we practice so I’m just super proud of everyone.”

The Gators’ Di Cello stood second in the all-around round with 39.725 points. She earned 9.975 on the bars, which marked her season best. She also equaled her season best in beam by posting 9.95. The score on Saturday marked the sixth time in the last eight meets, with this being the fourth consecutive one.
