The 2026 Senior World Team Trials challenge is just around the corner, and the men’s and women’s divisions will see action across multiple weight classes that contain world-class athletes, alongside promising prospects, all wanting to make it to Team USA. The Freestyle Challenge has released its pre-seeds for five brackets of the men’s division and seven brackets for the women’s division ahead of the upcoming action that is scheduled for Thursday and Friday at Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
The seeding adjustments across both divisions have been made after a strict scrutiny of the wrestlers’ previous bouts, their PIN ratings, common opponents, etc., which finally hands them a seed rating that determines their position in a tournament. Early adjustments to few seedings have also been made following a few wrestlers withdrawing from the competition.
Top wrestlers have already bagged a reasonable pre-seed with the likes of Spencer Lee, Mason Parris, and Benjamin Davino. From the women’s division, the No. 1 seed position has been booked by Olympians Jacarra Winchester and Amit Elor, alongside Areana Villaescusa and Emma Bruntil.
The Senior World Team Trials has a divided session scheduled, with the first one beginning on Thursday, May 14, at 10 a.m. ET with preliminary and quarterfinal matches, followed by the semifinal matches scheduled for 4 p.m. ET the same day.
