Merritt Beason made her feelings known about the stunning attendance record set at Nebraska Stadium during the MLV matchup between the Omaha Supernovas and Indy Ignite. She credited the Nebraska fans for the record-shattering attendance.
The Supernovas vs. Ignite showdown was held on March 14 at the CHI Health Center, Nebraska, where the former solidified their position in the league, claiming a 3-2 (25-20, 25-23, 26-28, 22-25, 16-14) victory after a head-to-head clash. Apart from the scoreboard, another thing that grabbed attention was the huge crowd cheering in the stadium.
This match witnessed a record as 16,838 fans sold out the CHI Health Center, which is a new US record for indoor women’s professional volleyball attendance. This new feat was appreciated by the team’s opposite hitter, Beason. She exuded pride in the record by reposting the news shared by the Omaha Supernovas on her Instagram story.
She penned a sweet note that read:
“One thing Nebraska is going to do is set a record😝”

Beason joined the Supernovas in August 2025, and before transitioning to pro volleyball, she played for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. In the first two years of her collegiate career, she played for the University of Florida; however, she transferred to the Nebraska volleyball team in her sophomore year.
Her time with the Huskers ended after the 2024 NCAA volleyball championships, where they lost to Penn State in the semifinals.
Merritt Beason on Her Time at The Nebraska Volleyball Team
In January 2026, Merritt Beason spoke to Hail Varsity, where she fielded multiple questions surrounding the ins and outs of her experience on the Nebraska volleyball team. Opening up about her time on the volleyball team, she credited her teammates for making it a special one for her.
Further opening up about forming long friendships, breaking records, and the craze about the stadium, she said:
“It’s one of those things that I could go on and on about. I think just the group of girls that we had made the time so special, and just the relationships that we built and the friendships, like the lifelong friendships that I’ll have away from it, and we had so many cool experiences, like obviously the stadium match and going to two Final Fours and just breaking so many records left and right, like that’s such a special time in Nebraska volleyball history, and I’m just so honored to have been a small part of it,” Merritt Beason said.
The Omaha Supernovas and Merritt Beason’s next MLV match will be held on March 20 against Grand Rapids Rise at the CHI Health Center.
