The faceoff will commence at 9:00 am CST. They will then compete in the next home game against Wayne State on Friday, February 27, at the same venue, at 8:00 am CST. With only a few days left for the most-anticipated season, the Huskers are honing their skills, the glimpses of which they shared on Instagram, writing:
“Beating the cold at the beach! 🏝️ Stay warm out there, Husker Nation! ♨️”
The program’s sophomore, Leimbach, also shared a picture of herself from the carousel on her Instagram story and conveyed her excitement, writing:
“Hands up for beach season.”

The Lincoln native competed for Lincoln Lutheran High School before joining the Big Red Team. She was a four-time first-team all-state selection. Leimbach also played for the Nebraska ONE volleyball club.
Former Nebraska Volleyball Coach John Cook Praises Keri Leimbach’s Abilities
Former Nebraska Volleyball coach John Cook once opened up about Keri Leimbach’s potential, stating that although her height does not fit the usual volleyball standards, her skills and defensive abilities make her a significant player.
“Keri is a homegrown Nebraska girl who loves the school and the state. She’s always dreamed of being a Husker. Keri is a 5-4 libero, but she plays with big range and personality. Her floor defense is exceptional, as she passed 2,000 career digs in high school. Keri is also a great passer. She’s calm and consistent on the court but not afraid to speak up and be fiery when it’s needed. Keri is a proven winner with four state championships in high school. We’re excited to have her come in and help us continue to be elite in the back row.” (via huskers.com)
Leimbach helped the Lutheran High School earn four state championships, including one in Nebraska Class C1 and three in Class C2. She averaged 5.3 digs per set and served 244 aces during her high school career.
John Cook announced his retirement from coaching in 2025 after spending 32 years in the circuit. He led the Huskers for 25 years, leading them to four NCAA titles and 12 Final Four appearances.
