Jax Forrest issued a bold statement just before the commencement of the Big 12 Wrestling Championships, highlighting his goals. The tournament is scheduled to take place from March 6 to 7 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Forrest was last seen in action during the dual meet between Oklahoma State vs. Iowa on February 19, 2026. He competed against Drake Ayala by producing a notable performance in the showdown at the Gallagher-Iba Arena. He claimed a 19-3 technical fall victory over the Iowa wrestler, proving his prowess once again. His win played a crucial role in the Cowboys’ 32-11 victory against Iowa.
Currently, he is amped up to compete at the Big 12 Wrestling Championships, where he is selected as the top seed at 133 pounds. Just ahead of this tournament, Forrest recently made a bold statement, revealing everything he wants to achieve, including the Big 12, the NCAA Championship title, Olympic champion, and more. He also shared his thoughts on being seeded as No. 1 for the Big 12, telling the media:
“I think I just want to be the best. I want to be the greatest of all time. I want to be an Olympic champ. I want to be an NCAA champ. It’s, it’s surreal. And there’s the 3 and that will do it. A year ago today, I was just expecting to just wrestle the state tournament and then get ready for the US Open.
“You know, that’s kind of all I was thinking about. I never, never thought that I was going to be wrestling in college and then more or less going into Big 12s with with the 1 seed. I want to be a 4-time Big 12 champ. I think that’s part of the reason why I want to be in it because I don’t want to be looking and see that so-and-so won and I’m like, ‘Oh, I can beat that guy.’ It’s like I want to put myself in there and bet on myself. I know I’m good enough.”
He further made his feelings known about the rankings, adding:
“Yeah, it’s something I didn’t know. I wasn’t expecting to be number one just because I came in late and, but I mean, in my opinion, the rankings to me don’t matter. I just want to be number one. So if I’m not ranked number one, then I’m not happy whether I’m ranked, like 6th or 5, because ultimately if I go to the Nationals and take 5th or 6th, that’s gonna be, not a failure, but that’s not going to be me achieving my goals.”
Jax Forrest Weighed In On Defeating Drake Ayala At The Dual Meet
After earning a dominant win against Drake Ayala at the NCAA college wrestling dual meet, Jax Forrest sat for a media conversation, where he reflected on his win against Drake Ayala. He said that he is focusing on winning the national title and nobody can secure a victory over Ayala like he did. Calling himself ‘unstoppable,’ he said:
“Crazy. It’s awesome. Just wrestling. Coaches say wrestle every position, no matter what’s going on. I’m winning, I’m losing, I’m gonna wrestle in positions (and get) five points … National champ, that’s all I’m going to say, that’s what I’m working for. I don’t care who’s in my way. Nobody in the country, nobody in the world can tech (Drake Ayala) like that. So my offense, my defense, I’m gonna keep getting better and be unstoppable.”
Jax Forrest joined the Oklahoma wrestling team in January 2026, and before this, he was an exceptional wrestler at Bishop McCort High School in Pennsylvania.
