Izzy Starck continues to make headlines both on and off the court. The standout setter, who recently joined the Pittsburgh Panthers, shared a personal milestone on social media by celebrating an anniversary with her boyfriend, John Seifarth.
Taking to her Instagram handle, Starck shared photos marking the occasion, giving fans a glimpse into her life away from volleyball and showing her lighter, more personal side. The post quickly drew reactions from teammates, followers, and volleyball fans who have watched her journey unfold over the past two seasons.
She posted cute pictures of them together and penned a sweet caption that read:
“365 days of us❤️”
While she shared glimpses of her anniversary online, it also comes during a pivotal chapter in Starck’s athletic career. It highlights rapid success, national recognition, and a major program move that positions her as a centerpiece for Pittsburgh’s future.
Before signing with the Panthers for the 2026 season, she built an impressive resume at Penn State. As a freshman in 2024, she emerged as one of the most impactful setters in the country, helping guide Penn State to a national championship season while posting remarkable statistics.
Izzy Starck finished her rookie campaign with 1,483 assists, the highest single-season total by a Penn State player in the rally-scoring era. She also recorded 342 digs, 99 blocks, and 112 kills. With her all-around play, she earned prestigious honors, including AVCA National Freshman of the Year and Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
When Izzy Starck opened up about winning the National Freshman of the Year award
For Izzy Starck, winning national Freshman of the Year marked more than just a personal milestone. It represented years of commitment, sacrifice, and steady growth that suddenly came into focus. The honor recognized one of the most impressive debut seasons in recent college volleyball history, but for Starck, the moment was as much about gratitude as achievement.
She spoke to AVCA volleyball after receiving the award, reflecting on how surreal the experience felt.
“It’s just such a dream come true, all the work I put in all the years I played volleyball and everything, I don’t really think you’re going to be in this situation, this spot. Like a year ago today, I would tell myself I’m crazy that I’m here right now getting this award, so it’s just cool to see all my great work and progress and all the great coaches that helped me out throughout this process, getting me to this point,” said Izzy Starck.
She added:
“I mean, I just want to thank everyone who’s got me to this point and pushed me constantly, all the coaches and sports staff I’ve had, all the players, friends, family, and everything. I’m just really grateful for all that.”
After a clutch performance at the 2024 championships, Izzy Starck benched herself in 2025 due to mental health reasons.
