Alysa Liu’s Winter Olympics exhibition gala performance received special recognition in the Stateside Fortnight Emote, as it is inspired by the Olympian’s performance. She solidified her place in the figure skating world with her stellar performances in the Winter Games.

Liu rose to fame at the Milan-Cortina Games after producing graceful and dominant performances throughout the event. She went home with two gold medals in the team event and the individual event. In the team event, she finished third by securing 76.59 points, playing a significant role in her team standing atop the podium.

Following this, she competed in the individual free skate program, where she skated to Donna Summer’s ‘MacArthur Park Suite.’ She delivered a triple flip and secured 150.20 points to claim the gold medal. Along with these performances, she also performed in the exhibition gala, where she performed to ‘Stateside’ by PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson. Inspired by this, a Stateside Fornite emote was released on April 30, 2026, during Chapter 7: Season 2.

It is based on her gala performance, featuring the same song as hers, and the dance moves are also a recreation of her gala routine. This release has gone viral online, and one of the users posted its release on X, writing:

“The Stateside Fortnite emote is based on Alysa Liu’s performance at the Winter Olympics Exhibition Gala.”

Liu etched her name in history books during the 2024 Winter Olympics by becoming the first American woman to win individual Olympic gold since Sarah Hughes in 2002.

Alysa Liu opened up about her appearance at the 2026 Winter Olympics

After delivering exceptional performances at the 2026 Winter Olympics, Alysa Liu addressed the media, where she made her feelings known about her appearance at the Winter Olympics. Revealing that she felt ‘peak happiness’ while performing, she said:

“I get to share my art on the world’s biggest stage. And so what’s not to be happy about? I was peak happiness when I was out there on the ice. I’m honoured to be held in the same space. And I just hope that I can be just as influential,” said Alysa Liu.

    She added:

“I don’t really feel pressure. I feel excited to be there and happy, [because] that’s the stage I always wanted to show my programs on, show my dress off and just get myself out there. And I would do it again. Working with Massimo [Scali] and Phillip [DiGuglielmo] has been a dream because they let me do what I do and let me have control. Having creative control over what I do – this is a creative sport – that changes things; it is a game changer.”

Alysa Liu was expected to compete at the World Championships; however, she withdrew from the event.
