‘You Might Never Recognise Reality’: NFL Analyst Drops Blunt Opinion on Shedeur Sanders’ Future Amid $17.7M in NFL Earnings

Shedeur Sanders’ NFL journey has been full of ups and downs so far, be it facing one of the most drastic draft slides in the last few years during the 2025 NFL Draft or ending the year with an overall record of 4-3 as the Browns’ starter.

The Browns rookie recently gathered some great news after reports of him shattering all records in licensing earnings made headlines.

Sanders made $17.7M in licensing value in his rookie year, which is not only the highest from the 2025 NFL season but also in the game’s history, which includes Tom Brady’s records too.

While it may be good news for Sanders, analyst Damon Amendolara shared a concern about how it would impact his future as a player during a recent podcast:

“Shedeur Sanders just broke Tom Brady’s record for licensing revenue in a single season in the NFL. And that’s exactly why Shedeur may never hear the truth about himself. Shedeur Sanders last year actually topped him and topped him by a lot. And that is because no matter how pedestrian he is as a quarterback, there are super fans of the family of Shedeur. And because of that, because he’s more star for his persona, his reputation, Shedeur may lack the clarity on who he really is as a football player, which is limited. All of these things collected to a guy that dropped like a rock in the draft. If you come out of that experience and you hear a bunch of people saying, man, you were wrong, maybe even your dad, and you look at jersey sales, you say, man, I’m the most popular guy in the NFL ever for one year. You might never recognize reality.”

Analyst Makes a Bold Case for the Browns to Start Shedeur Sanders

The Browns are currently facing one of the most exciting starting quarterback battles between Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson, as while half of the fans want to see the young player take the wheel in his hands, others believe the veteran star deserves a second chance.

Talking about the situation, analyst Garrett Bush spoke about how Myles Garrett’s trade to the Rams makes it more clear that the Browns should lean towards Sanders as the starting quarterback.

“In no universe where playing Deshaun Watson at this point makes sense. You play Shedeur Sanders. Both sides should be happy.” Bush said.

Bush further said that after moving Myles Garrett, who is in his prime, it makes no sense to entertain a reclamation project with someone who is over 30 years old.
