Wyndham Clark became the talk of the town after his second-ever major championship win, bagging the US Open title last weekend. The former Oklahoma State prospect edged out Sam Burns in a wire-to-wire win at the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.
Since his win, Clark has appeared on multiple talk shows, where he has been interviewed about his impressive performance. During his appearance on Barstool’s Pardon My Take on Wednesday, Clark revealed the reason behind one of his social media posts from 2016.
Clark was questioned about his tweet aimed at then-Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield, to which he replied:
“My girlfriend at the time cheated on me with Baker Mayfield. But yeah, so I’m a Baker fan now. That’s where it came from. This is a bro moment for us to be like, ‘Oh, bro, I didn’t know. My bad.’ She never told me. And I’m like, ‘Oh, it’s all good. We’re homies.'”
While Clark and Mayfield have cleared the air over the years, the tweet is still up on Clark’s X (formerly Twitter) page:
As Clark’s interview took off, fans rushed to the comment section to make their opinions known on Clark’s admission.

Clark attended Oklahoma State University from 2012 to 2016 before transferring to Oregon as a redshirt senior in 2017. Mayfield was a part of the Oklahoma Sooners around the same time.
Baker Mayfield To Star In Season 3 of Quarterback on Netflix
After two seasons highlighting the careers of various signal callers around the league, including Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, Jared Goff, and more, Netflix is set to return with another season of its Quarterback docuseries, with the first episode premiering on July 14, 2026.
The third installment of the series is set to star four different quarterbacks as opposed to the trio pairings in the first two installments. Baker Mayfield will be one of the stars beside Tennessee’s Cam Ward, Washington’s Jayden Daniels, and Cincinnati’s Joe Flacco.
Legendary quarterback Peyton Manning will be returning as the producer, while Courtland Bragg, Shannon Furman, Tim Rumpff, and Emily Winter will be the directors.
